 Hey .. Im new to Mechanism : ) too 

I Think Transition state is when both bond formations and bond breakings both happen at a time ..A transition state is should be stable and more reactive than products .. it occurs in a Bimolecular reaction that is ..when rate or reaction depends both reactant and ragent taken 

Reaction Intermediates are formed in the middle of reaction which are highly reactive , generally they are Carbocation,Carbanion,Benzyne,Carbene,Carbon Free radicle

Observe Energy profiles of various reactions to know about energy,stability,rate of rxn's of various reaction intermediates and transition states

 hmm i think its diffcult to explain here ..

Try reading standard books like Morrison and boyd , solomons , Wade etc.. : )
