It must be HOOC-CH2-COOH, which is malonic acid (propanedioic acid) not HOOC-C-COOH

3 carbons so Prop

saturated hydrocarbon, so -ane

2 carboxylic groups, so -di-oic acid

IUPAC Name

Propane-di-oic acid

Similarly, Try the following one...

Butane-tri-oic acid (COOH)₂C(COOH)

Its a dicarboxylic acid whose IUPAC name is Propane-di-oic acid
