Which H is most Acidic?

None

Which H is most Acidic in each of the compounds?

Ist comp.

CH2(COOC2H5)2

2nd comp.

CH3COCH2COOC2H5

Plz give the answer only if you are sure.

Plz give the reason also.

The question is which H in 1st comp and in 2nd comp are the most acidic. Separately in the 2 compunds.

THE FIRST ONE IS MORE ACIDIC BECAUSE GP-OC2H5(2 ARE PRESENT ) WILL TEND TO TAKE THE ELECTRONS OF ACTIVE METHYLENE MORE EFFECTIVELY COMPARED TO -CH3 GP(ELECTRON WITHDRAWING)

THUS ACTIVE METHYLENE CARBON WILL TAKE THE BOND PAIR AND PROTON WILL BE LOST,,HENCE MORE ACIDIC......

.THOUGH BOTH R ACIDIC DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF ACTIVE METHYLENE GRP....THE CENTRAL ONE

cental H of the 2 compounds are acidic coz of CH2 active grp present....

How will it make the H go out in the form of H+ ??

both group have active methylene!

but ur ? is which one more acidic!

for my idea is check the Pka value of ester cabonyl attached methylene and ketone carbonyl CH2 group

i think u got some idea!..........
