hii
I think in standard 9 it is a bit early to start .. I will sugest tat he preares for NTSE exam .. tat will set him geared for JEE preparation ..

u do have foundation iit courses which is for students of 9&10...........
.i think is the right time to start......he'll get sum idea about iit

9th is a bit too early.Target IIT is just an extension of the NCERT textbooks.It's better to start in 11th (In my opinion). An option would be to prepare well for NTSE
