 Rate of a reaction can be expressed by Arrhenius equation as:
k=Ae?E /RT
In this equation, E represents
(1) the energy above which all the colliding molecules will react
(2) the energy below which colliding molecules will not react
(3) the total energy of the reacting molecules at a temperature, T
(4) the fraction of molecules with energy greater than the activation energy of the reaction

fiit jee says its 2)

brilliant tutorials says its 1)

i feel both mean the same . pls help

guys...2nd is correct bcoz in first...not all molecules with energy higher than E will collide and react ....there is the orientation factor decided by A....so b is correct bcoz if E is not there then it surely wont react but if E is present then there is no guarantee that the particular molecule will react!!!!!!!!!

I did not bliv in god till i saw a mirror..

If the molecules have energy greater than E then it is not necessary that all the colliding molecules will react. But if it is less than E then surely they will not react.

Hence correct option is b).
