The pressure exerted by 12g of an ideal gas at temperature t degrees C,in a vessel of volume V litre is 1 atm.when temperature is increased by 10 degrees at same volume,pressure increases by 10%.Calculate t and V(molecular wt. of gas=120).

For ideal gas -

             P1 / T1 = P2/T2

     --> P1/P2 = T1/T2

     Now , P2 = 10%P1 + P1

     -->   P2 = 11/10 P1

   And, T2= T1+10

substituting    10 P1 / 11 P1 = T1 / T1 + 10

----> 10(T1+10) = 11 T1

---->T1 = 100K

By substituting  T= 100K , P = 1 atm , n=12/120 mol and R = 0.0821 L atm K-1 mol-1  in PV=nRT ,

V=0.821 L
