what is bleaching??(its of course removal of colour)
is it related to oxidation??
coz chlorine water releases nascent oxygen....
and why does SO2 temporarily while chlorine permanently bleach the substances??

chlorine water releases nascent oxygen .......
coloured material + [O] ----------> colourless material
this bleaching action is permanent......
SO2 + 2 H2O ---> H2SO4 + 2 [H]
coloured material + [H] ---------> colourless material
this bleaching action is temporary as the colourless material can be aerially oxidised to get back its colour...........
