1 litre water in a bucket is placed in a closed dry air room having dimensions 4*2*1.5 m at 300o K. If the vapour pressure of water at 300o K is 27 mm of Hg & density is 0.99 g cm-3 , calculate the amount of water left in liquid state.

Ans.    685.3 mL

THE MAXIMUM PRESSURE CAN BE 27mm or 27/760 atm.
now, you can apply PV=nRT OR PV=W/M RT and calculate the value of mass of gas in the room at that particular temp.you know the initial wt. of water in the bucket.(wt.=volume* density)
subtract the wt.in the bucket and in the room, you will get the remaining mass and hence calculate the remainig volume in the bucket.
