Strongest bond is formed by the head-on overlapping of
(a) 2s and 2p-orbitals
(b) 2p and 2p-orbitals
(c) 2s and 2s-orbitals
(d) All of these
Please give the answer giving proper explanation for the same.
I think 2s-2s is not possible since 2s orbitals always form electrovalent bonds. Please explain the full solution. I'll be really thankful.

Yes, I know that.
But you must have read that 1s-1s sigma bond is stronger than the one formed by p-orbitals. This is due to the fact s orbitals lie close to the nucleus and p are diffused. Then why the answer is different in this case??? Is it because instead of 1s, they have given 2s orbital here???
Please reply.
