there are 2 types of conductors. electronic and electrolytic. intermetallic compounds formed bet alkali or alkali earth metals with Sn, Sb, Pb etc. are mixed conductors showing both conduction my question is WHY? please answer soon!

look. the answer lies in the mechanism of conduction in the 2 above mentioned cases.
now, these compounds ionise in polar solvent due to weak metallic bonding, and hence electrolytic conduction. in solid state, they, due to free electrons, easily conduct electricity.
