As we move from right to left in a period , nuclear charge increases by 1 unit , but the number or shells remain same (in periods) , due to this increased nuclear charge , the electrons are pulled back to the nucleus making the shell smaller...
so acc to me
it shud be
C > N > O > F
but Neon will have the highest radius coz in noble gases , orbitals are completely filled so electronic repulsions are max. in them , also noble gases have van der waal's radius.....and all other elements have covalent radius.....and we knw that van der waal's radius is greater than covalent radius
so order will be
Ne > C > N > O > F
The reason is that along a period the no. of protons and electrons increases and so the attractive forces on the electrons by the protons, so the size increases.
for noble gases the radius is comparitively bigger due to weak vanderwaal forces between the gas molecules.

C > N > O > F> Ne
but Ne doesn't form any ionic bond...hence we caclulate its vanderwaal radius which is larger than all other period elements...
therefore Radius order:
C > N > O > F
Always remember... Noble gases have biggest radius in their respective periods..
hence in questions always the correct order will be followed...
if ionic radius is asked, the answer given at the top wil be correct..
