how would you account for the increasing oxidizing power in the series--VO2+ < Cr2O7 2- < MnO4 -

 hello.......

i think its because Mn is in +7 Ox. state, Cr is in +6 and V is in +4. one atom of Mn can accept 5 electrons and go to +2 ox. state. similarly Cr can accept 3 electrons per atom, while V can accept 2 electrons per atom. this is why you get this sequence of oxidising power.........
