Adsorption implies adhesion and absorption implies diffusion, dissolution etc. Absorption usually refers to diffusion between solids or semi-solids and liquids. diffusion usually implies the phenomenon of absorption between the gases.
Better example to adsorption is adhesives or glue, and a piece of semi burnt charcoal when wiped on the hand , plucks out the hair.
Desorption, reverse process of absorption, for example salt is smeared on pealed out cucumber, water comes out of it.

adsorption:
- it is surface phenomenon.i.e.it occur only at the surface of the adsorbent.
- rate is high in the begining and then decreases tii equilibrium is attained.
- the concentration on the surface is different from the bulk.
absorption:
- it is bulk phenomenon.it occur throughout body of the material.
- rate remains same throughout the material.
- the concentration is same throughout the process.

generally adsorption is diffined as the deposition of one substance over the bulk of another substance
the process involves adsorbate and adsorbent
while absorption is deffined as the penetration of one substance into the bulk of another substance

adsorption: the phenomenon of attracting and retaining the molecules of a substance on the surface of a liquid leading to a higher concentration on the surface in comparison to the bulk..absorption: it is the phenomenon in which substance is uniformly distributed throughout the bulk i.e., it is the penetration of the substance through the surface into the bulk of the solid

Absorption generally refers to two phenomena which are largely unrelated. In one case, it refers to when atoms, molecules, or ions enter some bulk phase - gas, liquid or solid material. For instance, a sponge absorbs water when it is dry.
Adsorption is similar, but refers to a surface rather than a volume: adsorption is a process that occurs when a gas or liquid solute accumulates on the surface of a solid or, more rarely, a liquid (adsorbent), forming a molecular or atomic film (the adsorbate). It is different from absorption, in which a substance diffuses into a liquid or solid to form a solution.
Sorption encompasses both processes, while desorption is the reverse process.
