why do we take common ion effect of hcl on water and not the reverse  ( [hcl]=10^-7)

water is a very weak electrolyte while HCl is extremelyy strong ...hence it is HCl that suppresses the weaker dissociation ie that of water

Conc. of H+ from HCl is equal to its conc....but dat is not the case of H+ from water...so,when water dissociates,the H+ conc. of water dusnt add to the total net conc. of H+..so v dont consider the reverse...
