Both leads of an LED conductivity probe are dipped in water,dried and then dipped in mercury. in which liquid the LED light up.
1) water
2) Hg
3) Both
4) None

Since Hg will conduct electricity as it is metal hence LED will glow in this case.

If it is ocean water then it is a good electrolyte and LED will glow.
But if we use simply water it will not glow.
