SHE is fixed relative to hydrogen....it is assumed to be zero and others are calculated relative to it

electrode potential values are relative. Its possible to calculate nd measure only the differnce in potential between two cells, its not possible to calculate the absolute potential of a half cell. Hence, an electrode has to be fixed as reference electrode relative to which other potentials are defined, whch is hydrogen electrode whose potential, by convention, is zero
