H atom

None

When electron in grnd state of H atom is excited with an energy greater than E2 - E1 but less than E3 - E1 electron will get excited to n=2

True or false ?

ya ans is right.....see electron will get excited only when the given energy is = E2-E1 OR E3-E1 OR E4-E1.....otherwise it will remain there ar n=1!!

Excitement of electron only depends upon absorption of energy . If electron absorbs energy it will be excited to higher enerdy state otherwise excitation is not possible

maybe bcz the transaction is not like dat electron is going first from n=1 to 2 then sees if there is more enegy being given to electron or not....this process is too fast....so if d energy is = e2-e1 or e3-e1..den only transaction possible else not!!
