n=3 has 1 s,3 p nd 5 d orbitals-so 9

But it can also be 14 coz there are 3 sorbitals(1s,2s,3s),6 p(3 each of 2p nd 3p) nd 5 3d orbitals.

wats the right ans?

look any element dat has a n=3  has n=1 and n=2 energy levels too.

n=1 has 1 orbital-1s

n=2 has 4 orbitals-one 2s orbital and three 2p orbitals.

n=3 has 9 orbitals-one 3s,three 3p and five 3d orbitals.
