PCl5 = PCl3 + Cl2 initially let 1 mole of pcl5 be present since degree of dissociation is 20 % .at equilibrium we get 0.8 mole =pcl5 0.2 mole = pcl2 0.2 mole =cl2 total no of moles at equi = 1.2 now partial pressure = mole fraction . total pressure therefroe pp (partial pressure ) of pcl5 =0.8/1.2 = 2/3 pp of pcl2 = pp of cl2 = 0.2/1.2 = 1/6 now Kp ( eq constant ) = pp of pcl2 . pp of cl2 / pp of pcl5 solving we get Kp =1/24 rate if useful

Let one mole of PCl5 is present and it is given that 20% dissociates then at equilibrium
no. of moles of PCl5 = 0.8 no. of moles of PCl3 = 0.2 no. of moles of Cl2 = 0.2
now partial pressure = no. of mole/total mole * total pressure
using this find partial pressure
and then find Kp
and then using Kp= Kc(RT)^delta n
find Kc......

hey jungle jalebi baljadesh is rite but the mistake he has commited is that he didnt consider that there is already 0.2 atm of CL2 in the surrounding so his CL2 answer +0.2 answer gives yours and replace in his equation as 0.2+x for that CL2!!! thats all now am i right jungl jalebi???
