MY PROFFESOR WHILE TEACHING ME ABOUT 1A GROUP ELEMENTS SAID THAT FROM TOP TO BOTTOM DENSITY OF ELEMENTS INCRESES DUE TO THE INCRESE IN MASS BUT WITH INCRESING IN MASS SIMULTANEOUSLY INCRESES NEW SHELLS AND ATOMIC SIZE ALSO INCRESES, THIS MEANS VOLUME INCRESES HENCE DENSITY INCRESES

SO MASS BY VOLUME WILL ALWAYS BE SAME AS FOR ALL ELEMENTS ,TOP TO BOTTOM NEW SHELL WILL BE ADDED

EXPLAIN PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLZZZZZZZZZZZ

Mass increases more than as compared to volume so that their ratio increases . However there is an exception Potassium is less denser than sodium .

ya density increases down the group because increase in atomic mass is more than volume but there is exception of Na and K,density of sodium is more than potassium because electron added in 4s without filling 3d in K so volume increases so much and density decreases.but remember density not in same pattern in all groups for example in 2nd grp density of Be is high than Mg and Ca due to compect packing of orbitals.
