What is a limiting reagent ? is it simply the compound among the reactants with lesser moles and gets fully consumed ?? how to determine it ?

limiting regent is not exactly a compound with lesser moles. It is the compound with lesser moles compared to the original equation for eg nitrogen+3hydrogen=2ammonia in this equation every 1 mole of nitrogen requires 3 mole of hydrogen but if it falls short of three moles it is the limiting reagent as the reaction will go on until hydrogen is fully consumed

yaar limiting regagent are the substance which exaust first then the the other one
in another language substance in less proportion to the other reagent and stops the reaction before complition of reaction.

how do u solve this?
a solution contains Na2CO3 and NaHCO3.10 ml of the solution requires 2.5 ml of 0.1Mfor neutralisation using phenolphthalein as indicator. methyl orange is then added when a further 2.5 ml of 0.2 MH2SO4was required. calculate amount of Na2CO3 and NaHCO3in 1 l of solution.
i'd be grateful if someone answered..........

this is simple.when we use phenolphthalein as indicator the bicarbonate gets polymerised and so we get only half the titre value of carbonate and no titire value of bicarbonate.
me of H2SO4(PHENOLPHTHALEIN) =0.5*ME OF Na2CO3
CALCULATE ME OF Na2CO3
THEN
0.5*ME OF Na2CO3+ME OF NaHCO3=ME OF H2SO4(METHYL ORANGE)
SOLVE THE 2 EQUATIONS AND GET UR ANSWER.
