no ....the answer is bcoz most of atomic space is hollow and prob. of it hitting nucleus is low.

no i dont think that is the reason for alpha gng strit into the atm.that s b coz atom is too spacious.....

electrons were first thought to deflect the alpha particles but due to their size (7300 times smaller) they r brushed aside by the alphas and their deflection is not even enough to deflect the alpha by one degree

dont confuse these two

Yes , they have .But they can be stopped by a sheet of paper
So willn't that be applicable in this case??

i agree!but considering a thin leaf of metal sheet that is few atoms thick this is possible
