tell me its going to which o.s.
if its reduced to C2O4--2,
then its nfactor of CO2 : 1
and nfactor of oxalate is : 2

yes i think firstly the product shud be mentioned
bcos n factor may vary depending on that
 
anyway i think the author meant the oxalate reaction
the reaction is
C2O42- -------> 2CO2 + 2e-
as per the reaction
per mole of C2O42-  2 electrons transferred so n factor = 2
similarly for CO2 it is 1

the n-factor will depend on the reaction:

the basic an simple formula for calculating the n-factor is just calculate the change in OXIDATION STATE IN THE REACTION.
and u'l get the n-factor.
and ya as for the above answer itz not always necessary that CO2 will always reduce to form an oxalate ion.

PROGRESS ISN'T MADE BY EARLY RISERS OR HARD WORKERS, BUT BY LAZY PEOPLE TRYING TO FIND EASIER WAY TO DO THE SAME.....SO BE LAZZZZYY!!!!
