In an experiment, it is found that 2.0769 g of pure X produces 3.6769 g of pure X2O5. What is the number of moles of X.

in the amount of compound formed,
3.6769-2.0769=1.6 grams of oxygen
in one portiion of the moecule,
the ratio of X : O=2:5
now 1.6 grams oxygen=1.6/16
=0.1 part oxygen
so no of moles of X=0.1*2/5
=0.04 moles
