1. if the edge lenght of unit cell of NaCl is 600pm and ionic radius of Cl ion is 190pm, then the ionic radius of Na ion is: i. 310 ii. 110 iii. 220 iv. none 2.in a solid AB having NaCl structure 'A' atoms occupy the corners of unit cell. if all the face centered atoms along one of the axes are removed, then resultant stoichiometry is: AB2 A2B A4B3 A3B4 PLZ ans these questions step wise .rates assured !!!!  |

NaCl is fcc type structure so,sqrt(2). edge length= 2(radius of cation + radius of anion)

ans 2) 6 face centres are there so that means 6A atoms
removing FC atoms frm one of the AXES means removing 2A atoms
now. no of A atoms = 8 x 1/8 (corner) + 4 x 1/2 (face centred)
= 3
no. of B atoms/unit cell
12 x 1/4 (edge centred) + 1 (body centred) = 4
so resultant stoch. = A3b4
