i have problem in finding 'n' factor of a disproprtionate reaction please tellme method of solving this reaction

I2 + KOH ==== KI + KIO3 + H2O

if any one knows 'k' method plz solve it by that method if not then any method is accepted

n-factor for this reaction will be 8.

As KOH will neither reduce or oxidise,

I₂ ======= 2I0₃^-+ 12H⁺ + 10 e^-

and

I₂+ 2e^- ========2I^-

Therefore , net change of electron per mole will be 8.

Regarding the k-method, if u could tell me about it, i will try doing this by that method.

for any dispraporsnation reaction eq wt calculate by method E1 +E2 here E1 is eq wt for one half while E2 for other.

for these type of problem mole method is better.consult redox titrations questions in p.bahadur.many example are there which already ask in jee.
