using the latent heat of fusion of ice i.e. 80 cal/g or (80x4.2=) 336 J/g / or 333.4 J/g (approx)
energy required for 1 kg of water to freez = 33.4x 1000= 333.4 KJ
which can be accounted as 333.4 KJ Kg-1 .
since the energy is derived out from the liquid system, -ve sign is used i.e. total change in energy is negative.

thats the latent heat of fusion of ice.
