The density of water is 1g/cc(we know)

therefore 1000ml of water = 1000g of water as ( d=m/v)

Now MM of water is 18 g

therefore moles in 1000g of water = 1000/18=55.5 which is molality

as molality is no of moles in 1000g of solvent & water is pure so considered to be solvent
