| Summary | No other text on the market today can match the success of Halliday, Resnick and Walker's Fundamentals of Physics. This text continues to outperform the competition year after year, and the new edition will be no exception. Intended for Calculus-based Physics courses, the Sixth Edition of this extraordinary text is a major redesign of the best-selling Fifth Edition, which still maintains many of the elements that led to its enormous success. Jearl Walker adds his unique style to this edition with the addition of new problems designed to capture, and keep, students' attention. Nearly all changes are based on suggestions from instructors and students using the Fifth Edition, from reviewer comments, and from research done on the process of learning. The primary goal of this text is to provide students with a solid understanding of fundamental physics concepts, and to help them apply this conceptual understanding to quantitative problem solving. Fundamentals of Physics, 6th Edition is available in 9 Parts:

This book gives us a insight into the physical interpretation of various parts of physics which I think is more useful for a student. I 'd suggest students to follow mechanics, electrodynamics and waves from this book.
Not a great book for IIT. But otherwise a very good book
just buy the book for theory coz its the best book for it...but the book is really slow...but agaib its the best book which will clear all your concepts...but do not buy it for questions plz...
Not a gud book fer iit & aieee...buy it just fer general knowledge in physics.
hai guys this book is the best after h c verma . but it is amust read for aspirants of jee or eee
Superb Book to read it u must hv good english it is the building block of jee. Language is not very descriptive but still it solves ur purposes. INteresting things just at the begining of each chapter takes it to it's own class.
A Must Keep Book for JEE prep
yeah guyz hc is better but only in terms of question n pattern ...as far as theory part is considered i dont think indian writers are that lucid...halliday's great if nybody wants 2 start frm da scrap...
its the best book if you LOVE physics and not iits
HC verma was copied from HRW
and HRW is the big daddy of all books
IT IS A VERRY GOOD BOOK AFTER YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH YHE H.C.VERMA BOOKS. I THINK AFTER THE FENYMAN'S LECTURES IT IS THE BEST BOOK ON PHYSICS FOR THE BEGINNERS WHO WANT TO BE MASTERS IN PHYSICS.
great book...HC Verma becomes a little too much precise sometimes like in chapters like waves, electricity then you can always rely on RHW.
It is a lot of fun and you will feel good after reading it...you will feel as if you know everything..
halliday is a book only for dumbos.it is too slow and gives detailed explanation where it is not required.D.C.Pandey is the best book.
it is the right book for preparing yourselves for enterence exams.
no a book for iit learning only use for reference....
this bool is very good for theory and one can clear its concepts by just reading.this is a must buy book for a better explanation to all concepts of physics while its problems are o.k

Hello friends,
I have no doubt that this book is a great book in terms of the content that it presents. However I have some objectionsi n suggesting this as a book to students preparing for the JEE or some other engineering exams. They are as follows:
1. First of all the book is too slow. It is a true tex in eral sense. very cool and slow at pace. I do not think that people preparing for JEE has that amount of time.
2. The other point is that the book is too detailed and shifts the focus from the competitive exam.
3. HC Verma is a great book and best for JEE.
cheers
