No other text on the market today can match the success of Halliday, Resnick and Walker's Fundamentals of Physics. This text continues to outperform the competition year after year, and the new edition will be no exception. Intended for Calculus-based Physics courses, the Sixth Edition of this extraordinary text is a major redesign of the best-selling Fifth Edition, which still maintains many of the elements that led to its enormous success. Jearl Walker adds his unique style to this edition with the addition of new problems designed to capture, and keep, students' attention. Nearly all changes are based on suggestions from instructors and students using the Fifth Edition, from reviewer comments, and from research done on the process of learning. The primary goal of this text is to provide students with a solid understanding of fundamental physics concepts, and to help them apply this conceptual understanding to quantitative problem solving. Fundamentals of Physics, 6th Edition is available in 9 Parts: - ISBN 0-471-320005

Hello friends, I have no doubt that this book is a great book in terms of the content that it presents. However I have some objectionsi n suggesting this as a book to students preparing for the JEE or some other engineering exams. They are as follows: 1. First of all the book is too slow. It is a true tex in eral sense. very cool and slow at pace. I do not think that people preparing for JEE has that amount of time. 2. The other point is that the book is too detailed and shifts the focus from the competitive exam. 3. HC Verma is a great book and best for JEE.
cheers

This book gives us a insight into the physical interpretation of various parts of physics which I think is more useful for a student. I 'd suggest students to follow mechanics, electrodynamics and waves from this book. |

IT IS A VERRY GOOD BOOK AFTER YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH YHE H.C.VERMA BOOKS. I THINK AFTER THE FENYMAN'S LECTURES IT IS THE BEST BOOK ON PHYSICS FOR THE BEGINNERS WHO WANT TO BE MASTERS IN PHYSICS. |

great book...HC Verma becomes a little too much precise sometimes like in chapters like waves, electricity then you can always rely on RHW. It is a lot of fun and you will feel good after reading it...you will feel as if you know everything.. |
