Gas has n degrees of freedom ,so Cv = nR / 2.Cp = nR / 2 + R = (n+2)R / 2.The ratio of Cp / Cv = (n+2)R/2 / nR/2 = (n+2)/n.

Cv = nR / 2

Cp = nR / 2 + R = (n+2)R / 2

Cp / Cv = (n+2) / n
