Thermal Physics
A gas undergoes a process such that P is proportional to (1/T). if the molar heat capacity for this process is C=33.24J/mol-K.
find the degree of freedom .....
first law of thermodynamics......
we have.......
C=Cv +2R={R/(y-1)}+2R=33.24
substituting the value........y=1.5...(where y=Cp/Cv)
we know...
y=1 + {2/F}...
and getting degree of freedom(F)=4
answer is 4.....
if wrong NUDGE ME........
correct answer.......
thanx.....
ya!
the answer is 4.......
for shortcut....remember...
any process of form PVX=constant...
molar heat capacity is given by.......
so in this process....it is in form of....PV1/2.....
but basic way is first one.....
nice shortcut................
good solution!
