sin(theta) = a / c

Given Triangle abc, with angles A,B,C; a is opposite to A, b oppositite B, c opposite C:

a/sin(A) = b/sin(B) = c/sin(C) (Law of Sines)

sin is a trigometrical ratio and x is a variable

well, in right angle triangle ABC and a given angle BAC=@, the ratio of the length of perpendicular and the length of hypotenuse is called the sine of that angle @. i.e. sin@=prpndclr/hyptnse.
