cosec20- cot40

=(1/sin20)-(cos40/sin40)

=(sin40-cos40sin20)/sin40sin20

=(2sin20cos20-cos40sin20)/sin40sin20

=2cos20-cos40/sin40

=cos20+cos20-cos40/sin40

=cos20+2sin30sin10/sin40

=cos20+sin10/sin40

=cos20+cos80/sin40

=2cos50cos30/sin40

=cos50/sin40

=cos50/cos(90-50)

=cos50/cos50

cosec20- cot40

now solve it further by applying cosc + cos d .

it will be simplified and the answer is

Prahalad,I got it but value of cos30 is .So the answer becomes .Cheers!
