It is possible only if the line does not intersects plane
here we go:
take any point on line (convinient put z=0)*
than
distance=(Ax1+By1+C(0) +D)/(A2+B2+C2)
(simply distance of a point from plane)
cheers we have done it !!

ya i got it  !
IN 3D a line and a plane can either be intersecting or parallel(only one possibility)
in the first case there will be min dist=0 (obviously)
and for the second case i mentioned it in my first post
ok ?
