 A.dB  = A. dB  ?

( bold letters are vectors ) , A is a constt vector , n dB is a diff. elt , n the integral is vector integration .LHS has dot product of the vectors before int. and RHS after int.

The eqn given in 3D ie (x-x1) / a = (y-y1) / b = (z-z1) / c  is a line or ray ?

I dont know anything abt integration...but for the second question....i think it represents the equation of a line....
this is because....consider the equation 2x+3y+5=0
this is the equation of a line that passes through (-5/2,0) and
(0,-5/3) which extends infinitely....
it can as well be the equation of the ray which starts at (-5/2,0) and extends only in one direction...
or i can tell it to be the equation of a line segment with end points
(-5/2,0) and (1,-7/3)
so, this represents the equation of all the three: line, ray, segment
a similar argument for 3D geometry says tht the given equation is represented for all the three" line, ray and a segment..

but, we call it generally as the equation of a line as ray and segment are the subsets of a line..
hope m clear..
Thank you..

i think the given equation is of a line.
the genral equation of line in 3D is
x-a/l=y-b/m=z-c/n
