Ya u are right.I am getting lambda^2=1.so that means two solns should be there -1,+1 but -1 doesn't satisfy the eqn therefore +1 is the correct answer.take a=ai+aj+ak,b=bi+bj+bk and similarly c.write it in determinant form.take lambda common frm all the rows and columns.you get lambda^4 outside.using properties of determinants you will find the thing inside the determinant is equal to that to the right.thus lambda^4=1,same as lambda^2=1.hence ans is 1 value.rateeeeee
