Vectors

A vector is represented by an arrow. The length of the arrow represents its magnitude, and the direction of the arrow represents its direction.

Tail                                                       Nose

Resultant- combined effect of 2 vectors.

If 2 vectors are in a straight line- going in the same direction- add them.

If 2 vectors are in a straight line- going in opposite directions- subtract them.

Adding vectors which are not in a straight line
2 ways – the triangle law and the parallelogram law.

Triangle law

2 vectors must run into each other, nose of vector 1 to tail of vector 2. The 3rd side of the triangle that they form is the resultant.

Hai friend. Triangle law of vectors is used to add vectors. If two vectors of magnitude and direction represents two sides of a triangle in same order, then the resultant vector or the sum of the taken vectors is represented by the third side of the same triangle but in the reverse order.

the two vectors represents the two side of a triangle and the sum of two vectors is the thierd side of the triangle.

if two vectors are represented by the two sides of a triangle taken in same order then their resultant is represented by the third side of triangle taken in opposite order.
