Atretic follicles are found in the ovary...
You must be aware that in a female,oogenesis(process of ova formation) starts in the embryonic phase...All the immature oogonia are formed during the embryonic life only and with age these change into follicles......These immature oogonia only develop into mature graafian follicles on attainment of puberty and every month an ova is releasd from the ovary.....By the time puberty is reached,many of these follicles degenerate by the tim puberty is reached....This is atresia and the follicles which degenerate durin this are atretic follicles.
