first i will tell u chronic i terms of disease means that persists for a long time and generaly infection in body parts ends with itis like skin infection called dermititis, nose called rhinitis, appendix s calld appendicitis & of nephrons(kidney) calld nephritis

same way scleros in greek means stone like means hard ex. sclerids in sclerenchyma now

Arteriosclerosis refers to a stiffening of arteries.Arteriosclerosis is a hardening or loss of elasticity(from the Greek Arterio, meaning artery, and sclerosis, meaning hardening)

Chronic nephritis is a chronic inflammation of the tissues of the kidney. It is caused by a wide variety of etiological factors. The disease is frequently associated with a slow, progressive loss of kidney function. It is usually discovered accidentally, either by routine urinalysis (tests done to check kidney function) or during a routine physical checkup when anemia, hypertension, or laboratory findings like serum creatinine and blood urea etc.
