Around bloood vessels in kidneys, at the mesangium.

mesangial cells are phagocytic cells in kidney like kupffer cells in liver.

The mesangial cell has a central position in the renal glomerulus(kidney). Ithas characteristics of a modified smooth muscle cell, but is also have a number of other functions like generation ofprostaglandins and mediators of inflammation,formationofcytokines etc.
