It is based on the differences in the wetting property of gangue and the ore particle. mostly sulphur ores are used for froath flotaion...........when pine oil is added sulphur ore having greater affinity get wetted by it and forms a froath.and gangue particles get wetted by water and settles down thus they are seperated.....

aldehydes which do not contain a-hydrogen undergoes disproportionation when heated with NaOH.............

in this reaction one molecule of aldehyde get oxidised and the other is reduced..........

state function considers the current state of the system not on the path or the way in which it reached this state...for example internal energy, entropy etc..
