m not writing base...coz..we don't need to alter it n all...so it's obviously 3....

log 2, log (2^x-5) , log (2^x -7/2) are in AP

2log (2^x-5)=log (2^x -7/2)+log 2

using properties of log...n taking antilog both sides, u have...

(2^x-5)^2 = 2(2^x - 7/2)

solve this quation for 2^x....then find the value of x...

well, it's not a method actually.......just an observation........the expression tells about the addition of distances of a point z from... 2 , 3 , 4.5.......putting z at 4.5 wud compell the expression to take minimum value.....draw it on a number line...n den u'll be able to understand....
