hey akku...

here's what i think of these absurd questions(sorry, but i have a reason) please keep your brain alert..as we go further...

there's a very imp. conceptual point when force and work are related....and it is ----work is done whenever the point of application of force(varying or constant) makes the point(moving or at rest) concerned change its state of motion or rest ,with a necceray condition of having displacement of the centre of mass of the body(net result after the application of force) in the direction of net force applied for the time period of application or whole process....

so, in all..if the cause--net force...gives a net result,of displacement of ,within the time of experiment, then work is done...pls. put your brains to it again.....remember the point of application of force can be related to COM...pls. think over it ...

now...with the above info....its simple to answer each case....

case 1:work may be done...may be not...
case 2:no work done at all..
case 3:work may be done or may be not...

in cases 1& 2 think of following example...
take your mobile and place it on your study table...so that its perfectly balanced..
now,
apply gentle force on the mobile's sides with your pencil needle.
next time,
apply gentle force on the mobile's face with the same pencil perpendicular to the mobile's face(don't put the pencil on its screen----no damage responsibility would be taken)...now apply this perpendicular force on its face at diff. points..no motion would take place...think-- why not??
you can really relate these easily...

now lets change the example..
when the cricket bowl is rolling on the surface of the ground...the point of application of frictional force changes continuosly, but work is done in changing the state of motion of the bowl...even though its negative...

so, i think i have made my point clear...and yes try the first two experiment on a sphere as well...it may further clarify you...thats it.

yes one more thing...the above caes have not been idealised...so...also think of the experiment when there is no force but only one acting on the body...but the above example are elementarily clarifying...if we assume the other forces to balance themselves on their own....

complete foolishness...thats how i term this no worth test...

hey, i got all six of them in the very first go....and i feel its quite intelligent of me...

it can never test anyone to be having ...male or female brains..a total waste...

this is more probably, a test of attentive and creative mind ,which can work towards the required way...

the above , i would have said ,even if i would have not got all six...
i stand on what i say...the game is good but the aim is rubbish...

somewhat ,you can take it that way....but,the even powers shouldn't be ignored at all...as you require to know at least the pt. where the sign dosen't change...,

lets take an example...

if in a fn. there's a pt. -1 which has the even power...but in the denominator -1 (if included),gives us   an indefinite value...so its clear not to include it in the values of x...

f(x)={(x+1) 4 (x-3/5) / (x+1)}..

you solve it and decide does the even powers can really be ignored.....

i'm sure you will find this useful..

keep smiling..............
