people so worried about branch have no idea what they are saying

please dont join calicut its nowhere near good

bits hyd i m Very unsure about and i wudnt have joined it

DCE mech used to be best branch in all over asia at one time and still holds a Exceptional track record

I would have gone there without a doubt

People can say anything they want when it comes to branch mattering alot

the fact of the matter remains that if ur good at academics u can do well in any field

plus the way people r crazy about computers is BS

Its no secret fact that computers is heading towards stagnancy anyway

In a decade or so when your all careers will matter the mosts things like nanotechnology or materials or mechatronics or if u think of interdisciplinary fields are going to be the way of the future.

Plus Economics is going to be in high demand and people in economics are Very handsomely paid quite higher than an engineer

People have the slighest idea bout whats going on

Every field can make u successful but a bad college is definitely going to pull u down

You can take my word for it!

So i will tell u to go for BITS Anyday plus u can def get a good course there now if u dont realise the potential of varous fields i dont think theres must point discussing over it in a forum

if you dont have much core interest

or if u really dont think that you wanna make a career in electronics then u can stay in jaipur

another reason to not go to thapar is coz of money

But u shud be clear wit the fact that academically thapar electronics will be Much better than jaipur

so if u want ot leave thapar ur leaving it coz u dont want academically oriented career

considering the fact that u want to do mba later

bits pilani even if u live in delhi

If your right and the last seat at pec goes below 20k

then i ll shake ur hand lol

only becoz of second counselling and all india quota people leaving...

Mech finished at 6k

Production: 12000-17000

prod finished at 10k

IT: 4500-6000

It finished at less than 4.5k

I am in PEC doing mech here

and kkr does not come close to intellectual capital, the crowd which plays a role in itself, the environment, the exposure u get here plus the presence of being in a education city.

City gives u potential to go further. these r all very important factors much more imp than just being written in one line.

KKR has nothing of these. i m not even much sure of its infrastructure.

Look electronics at nit suratkhal is a very good option indeed.

Now listen to this carefully, Go for engg physics IF YOU like physics.Stop listening to people.Close your eyes think about it.Do u see urself doing research in physics. Do you like to study physics for the rest of your life.

You have to understand that when u pick specifics fields like these you must be in mood to do masters and beyond. There will be alot of scope for this but you wont go anywhere with it if you dont LIKE IT.

4 yrs down NOT picking the iit tag wont hurt u that much being at suratkhal but if you pick engg physics at guwahati and feel suffocated by all the pure science topics, you might feel bad about it later.

So pick what YOU think is right for you and forget about what everybody is saying bout it .

I ll pick mech over IT

Mech like everybody says is evergreen but it has core potential

plus in IT the field is more spread and people from no good colleges can beat u for a job because people in fields like CS or IT are not much college dependant as a mech engg. People who work hard on their own can still beat u and 4 yrs down no one would look at u while u sit their in ur college with ur aieee rank
