iitjee is an institute in which only the passout students(i.e xii pass) can appear.it will be veru useless to make ur son prepare for such a tough examination like CAT for any student belonging to x class or lower.

however special jee coaching are being conducted in almost every parts of india for xi n xii class.

exception----- an coaching institute designed specially for jee preparation for x class is VMC--Vidyamandir Classes.it may be the only insti that prepares x class stnds also for jee.

important tip----- 20% course and approx 80% basics are useful in jee from the syllabus of x class.

so let him start preparing for jee in x class but after his full preparation for boards that are much of neccissity..

ur ans:no u wll not be able to aspire for 2008/9 if u drop this year.

my advice: if u r not sure that u r capable of giving 2007 exam then u should definitely drop this year and prepare for boards.

after the boards u can very well develop urself in a year for iit2008 which is ur last chance.

i've also decided to do this.
