Which book would be the best for Organic Chemistry??

I want a book which specifies more on mechanism of reaction rather than just giving equation..

Is Morrision and Boyd book only for organic chemistry or it has all the portion of chemistry????

(1) A 100kg block is started with a speed of 2.0m/s on a long, rough belt kept fixed in a horizontal position. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the belt is 0.20. Consider the situation from a frame of reference moving at 2.0m/s along the initial velocity of block. Find the work done in this frame by the external force holding the belt.

(2)A ball is dropped on a floor from a height of 2.0m. After the collision it rises up 2 a height of 1.5m Assume that 40% of mechanical energy lost goes as thermal energy into the ball. Calculate the rise in temperature of the ball in the collision. Heat capacity of the ball is 800J/K

(3) A metal block of density 6000kg/m^3 and mass 1.2 kg is suspended through a spring of spring constant 200N/m. The spring-block system is dipped in water kept in a vessel. The water has a mass of 260g and the block is at a height of 40cm above the bottom of the vessel. If the support 2 the spring is broken, what will be the rise in temperature of the water. Specific heat capacity of the block is 250J/kg-K and that of water is 4200J/kg-K. Heat capacities of the vessel and the spring are nelgligible.

What will be the length of the air column when the tube is tilted slowly in a vertical plane through an angle of 60degrees? assume the temperature 2 remain constant.

Also i ve heard dat now a days all the software companies treat all the engineers (even mechanical) with same respect n all r given equal benefits. So will it be wise for me 2 go 2 ECE rather than CSE.

Should i opt for CS then. Even i m also a top ranker, n i m confused whether i should follow the usual trend or the trend which is followed by rest of India.

But still i m not able to understand why students over here in andhra r so foolish.

this is 1 of the strange thing which happens in Andhra Pradesh.

Everyyear, when the seats r getting filled up in state run engg. colleges through the EAMCET rankings, all the top rankers prefer to go to the branch of Electronics n Communication Engg. (ECE) rather than CS Engg.

In IITs , Bits, n in almost every NITs,the branch of ECE is just an unrecognised branch n CSE is a branch which ppl die for over there.

But here it is just a reverse case.

Moreover, CSE is much easier than ECE.

Then why do ppl over here opt for ECE? On what basis their thinking goes? Everyone noes dat boom of IT will be there for atleast another two decades(As per Nasscom) n there wont be any job deficiency. But yet these strange thing is happening every year.

Also i ve another doubt. After the IT companies recruit ppl from CSE n ECE do they treat these two branch engineers differently? If so, in wat way?

I ve created this thread just to ask u ppl whether u ve received ur IIT performance card till now or not. According to the brochure, everyone who has written the exam is eligible to receive the card. And i vent received the card till now.

This yr i ve totally lost out IIT n planning to prepare for IIT of next year.

I m going to prepare for it from today onwards.

Frnds, please inspire n motivate me bcos since the results had cum i m not able to do things properly. I m in a state of heavy depression still.

Also this yr i will be doing self study as it is much better than any coaching over here.

Hello friends,

i ve got a rank of 5300s in JEE this year

n in AIEEE my rank is in 17000s n state rank is 2700s

As far as i noe i wont get anything, neither in IIT nor NITs nor IIITs

but still want to noe can i get anything

but i dont want to go in dat space research colleges nor in ISM

If no wat i m planning to do is take up a seat in our private engg college n simultaneouly self prepare for IIT 2008

is it advisable to do like dat

+ve thing about dat is our engg college will start functioning only in late oct n till then have almost five months for preparing IIT again. Also i will take care dat my iit preparation is not hampered with engg studies or vice-versa.

experts please suggest wat should i do????
