A radio nuclide consists of 2 isotopes.one of the isotopes decay by alpha- emission and the othr by beta-emission with half lives t1=405 s and t2= 1620s respectively. At t=0 probabilities of getting alpha and beta particles frm the radionuclide r equal. probabilities of getting alpha and beta particles at t=1620s are........                      ans: 1/9, 8/9

1) finding c.m of remaiing mass ,then we get dist.=5R/2 AND ANS AS 25/14
2)using Force due to hollow sphere F2 = Force due to solid sphere - Force due to removed mass then we get ans as 7/9.
GIVE CORRECT REASON...ANYBODY

A solid sphere of uniform density and radius R exerts a gravitational force of attraction F1 on a particle placed at P.  The distance of P from the centre of the sphere is 2R.  A spherical cavity of radius R/2 is now made in the sphere (that cavity passes thru centre of big sphere and also touches circumf of big sphere)g The sphere (with cavity) exerts a gravitational force F2 on the same particle at P.  The  ratio F1/F2= 7/9.
my doubt is thr r 2 ways of solving
1) finding c.m of remaiing mass  ,then we get dist.=5R/2 AND ANS AS 25/14
2)using  Force due to hollow sphere F2 = Force due to solid sphere ? Force due to removed mass then we get ans as 7/9.
why the first way is wrong??

NO.OF WAYS OF CHOOSING FIRST AND SECOND SQ.= 64*63
IF THE FIRST SQ. IS ANY OF 4 CORNER SQ.,2ND SQ. CAN BE CHOSEN IN 2 WAYS
IF 1ST SQ IS ANY OF REMAINING 24 SQ. ON EDGES 2ND SQ CAN BE CHOSEN IN 24 WAYS
1ST SQ IS AMONG REMAINING 36 SQ. 2ND SQ IS CHOSEN IN 36 WAYS
4*2+24*3+36*4=224
ANS=224/(64*63)=1/18
