companies like microsoft r coming to campus and offering 9+ package

is a there any active faculty on tis forum?? i have serious doubts

soumen post reveals much more than we know about the institute.
such achievement are definitely something which can not be achieved without proper faculty and infrastructute.

and regarding GUJCET, well governor has rejected the bill so no more problems.

just check how many people are able to change therir branch..
if no is good then no second thoughts, otherwise it is upto u

i am not sure whether u can get daiict at this rank. BTW that bill was rejected by Governor as it seems to be motivated by the political reasons.
as bhupesh pointed out just go for daiict.
now a days microsoft, google, texas instruement and every good company is recruiting form daiict. moreover by the time u will graduate the situtation will be entirely different.

at daiict curricullum is mix of both CS and ECE ,so u will be getting the advantage of both streams

i did not mean to offence u by any means .

see we are talking at the the freshers level. we all know that a person joining infy from the likes of microsoft or google will be getting good salary. but the fact remains the same that u willnot get the good amount when u join even after iit. u will be getting the sama training at same place with people from xyz college from civil/chemical or even BA in arts people. and moreover u will not be doing some extra work as compaerd to them so it is kind of obvious they would not offer that much.

moreover tcs/infy are service based companies unike microsft/google which are product based

IBM offers two package at iit
-----one for CS which is a very skilled and highly paid
-----one for other which is just like infosys and TCS

one freind of mine(fresher) is CTO at his start-up earning two/ three times more than ur cousin, but that doesn't make that company better than infosys.

dont make me and other people laugh at u telling that ur cousin passed of a college and getting 20 lakhs at infosys as a fresher. ( offcourse it is possible if u/ or ur cousin is a sibling/relative of narayan murthy or nandan nilekani)

infosys/tcs/ibm( not for cs) do not even offer 4 lakhs for iitians.

if u r iitian u can work for any company and can still get a job in US( however getting H!B is not that easy)

@josh it means that if u do not get A grade then u wil get B, however in other iits u have a chance of getting A- also.

at iit kanpur
they cpi system as A=10 B=8 c=6

where as at other iit the have A=10, A- =9, b=8. b-=7

it means if u donot get a iit iitk ur cpi wil be dropped considerably

it is a real university(not the deemed one) and the university do not need any recoginisation by the AICTE but they need the same form UGC . and it is approved by UGC.

Aicte give approval for deemed univ. but daiict is a real univ.

maths and computing is a msc degree course offered by maths dept at kgp.

IT is should not be compared with CS( either btech or mtech) as both of these similar but focuses on different areas.

one boy ( from maths)at kgp got into schlumberger with 23 lkhs. however schlumberger was open for all , so irrespective of his branch hewould have selected for the same comp.

and my dear friend there was not a single company which asked for the people from maths dept. This doesnt mean that they r not placed but instead into a different stream and domain

it is not a good idea to compare iits especially top 5.

the only reason people prefer bombay and delhi coz they r in metro.
many north people do not prefer madras coz of food, likewise south people prefer madras coz of proximity to their home. i feel that placements are similar innanture in al iits.

and moreover it depends on a person how much he is grown and kind of work he did at iit
