have you learnt about coordination compounds yet??
because if you have, then my explanation will make more sense. otherwise, it will be a bit difficult for u to follow.

yes, there is a difference between the 2.
even though both are octahedral in shape, d2sp3 hyb. usually occurs in complexes.
the important difference to notice is that in d2sp3 hyb compounds, the
inner
d
orbitals are filled, before the s and p orbitals; whereas in sp3d2, the outer d orbitals are filled, after the s and p orbitals.
hope it was useful

i think this is a syn addition of alkenes.
it gives meso 2,3 butan-di-ol, hence its inactive and can't be resolved

I have heard that 2d geometry is very important for JEE and taht 25 % of the paper can be from that topic alone.. is this true??
i really want to know because i am writing an all india test series presently and i find that quite a lot of qsns are coming from 2d..
no prizes for guessing that my least favourite topic in math is 2 D :(

umm.. i know a few..
(NH
2
)S is used to selectively reduce one of the 2 (or more) nitro groups
in a benzene ring. but the nitro group it reduces depends in various factors like steric, H- bonding, etc.
then P/HI is used to reduce a -COOH grp to -CH3 tho im not sure if its selective in natture or not...
shall update if i remember more :)
cheers

i think
this
should help u.. its basically an approximation of a definite integral..
and wrt ur sum, are u sure the limits of the integral are right? coz by trapezoid rule, the answer is way way different...
Let I=
[1]
[3]
dx/x^3
here f(x) = 1/x^3 ; a = 1; b=3
I = (3-1) * (1/1 + 1/27)/ 2 = 28/27
which obviously doesnt match wid any of ur choices, so.....
