:The CBI on Thursday carried out raids on the top brass of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in Hyderabad, Bhopal, Chennai and Delhi, exposing the rot in the national regulator for technical institutes.

While AICTE member secretary K Narayan Rao was arrested, an FIR was lodged against AICTE head Ram Avtar Yadav for corruption. HRD Minister Kapil Sibal is learnt to have approved the raids on Wednesday night — something considered unprecedented as CBI raids against officials above the rank of Joint Secretary require the Cabinet minister’s approval.

Narayan Rao and middleman Subba Rao were arrested after laying a trap wherein the latter had reportedly demanded Rs 20 lakh as bribe on behalf of Narayan Rao for inspection and approval of an engineering college in Hyderabad. Cash amounting to Rs 9 lakh and documents related to bank accounts and properties were recovered from Narayan Rao’s residence in New Delhi. Searches were also conducted in Hyderabad and Subba Rao’s residence in Ongole, Andhra Prade

i will just tell my own story,not much impressive though.i had bio n i used to study it just 1-2 days b4 my bio exam.i used to skip a lot of chapters in both botany n zoology due to lack of tym n please take care dat it ws my first n last reading of chapters .i got 84 in my +2 exam which by assam board scoring pattern is a very gud mark n i also cleared the state medical entrance examination...so definitely bio is much easier than maths but even then i chose engineering as maths is more intteresting than mugging up plant,animal physiology..

In this cond, its risky to go with CSE.

Silchar NIT is a gud place , but definitely bits hyderabad is more branded.
